March 2026 Community Round-up

Supporting Local Charities, Clients and Community Connections in Buckinghamshire

Spring has officially arrived! With the clocks moving forward, lighter evenings, and daffodils in bloom, it’s a wonderful time of year and a busy one for our community.

Whether you’re a Personal Assistant (PA), a client, a family member, or simply exploring what we do, our monthly round-up is a great way to stay connected with local initiatives, charities, and the people who make our network so special.

In March, we were proud to support Headway South Bucks, a fantastic charity based at the Community Centre in Bourne End. They provide vital day support services for people living with acquired brain injuries – conditions that can arise from accidents, falls, or illness, and affect individuals of all ages. Their dedicated team of staff and volunteers work tirelessly to create a welcoming and supportive environment. Despite their incredible work, they remain lesser known locally, so raising awareness is key.

Our branch manager Larissa popped together a quick video outlining who Headway South Bucks are and the work they do, click below to view.

We supported them by funding a group trip to a local garden centre, complete with coffee and cake, something we’re sure will be thoroughly enjoyed. We look forward to sharing photos soon.

Supporting Wycombe Homeless Connection

March also marked the end of the Winter Night Shelter run by Wycombe Homeless Connection. We were delighted to volunteer again this year and extend a big thank you to the PAs who also gave their time.

Looking Ahead: April’s charity

Our April Charity of the Month is Social Link, an organisation supporting individuals with learning disabilities.

To celebrate National Tea Day, we’ll be hosting a special afternoon tea for their members—complete with a touch of line dancing at their request! It promises to be a fun and memorable event, and we’re excited to see everyone get involved.

We’re delighted to welcome Zaneta, Elisa, Amy and Rozalia to the Hub Care Support register this month. We hope you are settling in well – it’s wonderful to have you with us.

At the same time, we say a fond farewell to Robert and Pat as they begin their retirement. Pat was one of the very first PAs to join when Hub Care Support was founded by Marrilyn, and both have made a lasting difference to many lives.

We wish them all the very best for this next chapter.

This month, we’re celebrating Dave and Yvonne.

Dave has been part of the register since 2019 and continues to support one of his very first clients, demonstrating the long-term relationships that PAs can build. He’s also a familiar face at Hub events and in the office.

Yvonne joined in 2021 after hearing about the role from Dave, who just happens to be her next-door neighbour! It’s a great example of how word-of-mouth helps grow our community.

Both have gone above and beyond in their roles, from volunteering at events to developing their skills through experiences like the Virtual Dementia Tour.

We’re incredibly proud to have them both on the team.

A special thank you to Bobbie and her client for allowing us to highlight the important role PAs play in supporting appointments and community engagement.

Out and About in the Community

March was a busy month for community engagement. Here are just some of the places and initiatives we connected with:

  • Memory Partners -Tai Chi Café
Supporting wellbeing through gentle movement (Shibashi), tea, and conversation across locations including Totteridge, Downley and Beaconsfield. They are also offering free instructor training for those interested in running their own café sessions.

  • Sing Your Pain Away
A truly uplifting initiative using the power of singing to support wellbeing. Following a visit by Larissa and Natasha, we’re excited to be exploring a collaboration, with a pilot choir launching in High Wycombe over the coming months.

Thank you to everyone who attended this insightful session. The feedback has been excellent, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from such an experienced team.

The coming months will be just as busy, with Dementia Action Week and Carers Week on the horizon. We’re looking forward to getting involved and sharing more opportunities to connect and learn.

That’s all for March. From all of us at Hub Care Support, we wish you all a happy Easter
